Had to be the Factions preview event. As soon as I got to the Jade sea my love for Guild wars grew by 100%. Guild wars has always been a great game but for me Factions made it better. Loved the music, the scenery, and of course the game play.

But the day that changed Guild Wars for me at least was the day of Searing...I though that the pre-searing world was big...hehe. Dam Charr.

u know u can still interrupt skills cast by glyph of swiftness right? in pvp, most ppl immediately cast after the glyph if they use it so if u preuse an interrupt right after u can hit the skill.

Factions Preview weekend was just that: A preview of the future of Guild Wars. The day when Factions was released, it was released that it would never be the same again, for better or worse.
So, while the release of Hard Mode was indeed pretty cool and historical, the release of Factions changed the face of Guild Wars forever.

I agree 100% that HM changed GW since it ruined it so much, and also so did that PVE only elite skill that we're not allowed to QQ about anymore because Anet thinks its good for the game.
Aren't the same people making GW2?
|
I still remember hearing about HM and then a bunch of us going on how sweet it could be if they would modify the skillbars, make better teams dumping the smitters or at least add real monks next to smitters and how they hopefully won't just raise the level of the foes by 20 or rely on other cheap tricks!
And then the 19th came ...

Which would make Hell mode in Gwen and C3 the easy mode some people asked for.
Those guys pretty much just stand there and take the hits while the environment screws with the players.

There is always one person on your buddylist who you have been sharing your Guild Wars experience with. The day that changed Guild Wars forever is when that person no longer plays.

They will introduce the new HM.
All groups now contain level 20 monsters only.
They have normal speeds and attack speeds.
They have full skill bars with decent builds.
All groups now have a balanced mix with melee, ranged damage dealerd, elementalist aoe, necro hexes, mesmer interupts, healing, protection, hex removal, wards etc...

Just imagine what the reaction would be if ANet suddenly announced:
"We are sorry for all the changes we have made. We will now refund every GW purchase exept prophecies and delete all campaigns that came out after it. All skills will be cut from the game, exept the originals and they will all be reset to the way they worked the day GW was released. Your titles will be erased since they only ruined the game.Green items no longer drop. Xunlai storage will only have one box again. Heroes? Forgive us for ever thinking of those. We have deleted them forever. Use of the word "Ursan" will result in your account being permanently banned. If anyone has a problem with our new policy, know that it is all for your own good. Trust us on this one, you are only a small minority. All of your friends love to see their favorite game restored."

I hope the designers at ANet hang their head in shame at how they ruined such a glorious game and turned it into the POS we have now.

You just took the words from my mouth.
Introduction of hard mode (with loot scaling) should be considered as the most tragic thing that could happen to GW.
Ahh, the days before Hardmode and Lootscaling, when drops were plentier and making money was easier...
Good times, good times
